This is not an April Fools Joke ... This is real life : I am moving out of the US to start an eco retreat and teach SCUBA diving in the caribbean....
Let me start back up and get you up to date:
Some of you are vaguely aware that I do something related to SCUBA diving ... well first let me explain. After diving for about 6 years, at the age of 19 I went through my PADI Divemaster & Instructor courses. This was one of the greatest things I ever did. It was a huge accomplishment for me, something I was hugely proud of. I was working immediately, at the same shop I had interned and taken my courses. In no time I was certifying students left and right, Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Specialties etc. I love SCUBA, I love educating people about the ocean and making it accessible to them. I love inspiring others to find their own love for diving that could create the next wave of instructors. It is a truly gratifying job.
In 2015 I needed to renew my instructor status since it had been a few years since I paid my dues or taught a class, although a year never went by without a great vacation full of dives. I found Rainbow Reef in Key Largo, and little did I know I would find the place that would reinvigorate my love for TEACHING over all. After renewing my instructor status I realized how close I was to the next 'level up' PADI IDC Staff Instructor, which means you get to help Course Directors and Master Instructors teach Instructor candidates during their Instructor Development Courses. It was great to get the experience teaching at a higher level, really owning the knowledge I have, while driving me to learn more, to master the knowledge I am required to teach. Rainbow Reef IDC has a great team and a great reputation that is well deserved. Having experienced their IDC from as a student and as an IDC Staff Candidate I can't wait to continue going back until I become a Master Instructor or Course Director!
Anyway - if you couldn't tell I am a HUGE SCUBA nerd ... which leads to my next BIG move in life. My husband and I are moving to the caribbean. It has been a plan of ours almost since we met. To set up shop in the caribbean, be mostly self sufficient, and do what we love, cooking for him & teaching & guiding divers for me. We will be opening a retreat, eatery & dive center in Dominica, right on the bay of a sleepy fishing village called Toucari where the water is blue, sponges and coral are thriving, and of course a large variety of reef fish and eels you should expect in the caribbean are right off the shore.
You may have noticed me selling off shoes and 'city girl' clothing on poshmark or talking about moving sales, well that's because we are majorly downsizing to move everything out of the country and onto this tiny island. We are giving up a lot to live a much different lifestyle, with its own forms of abundance.
We are making the plunge in June, flying with our cats Dexter & Pierre, picking up a car and driving to what will be our temporary residence. We will be renting a house in Glanvillia while we renovate our dive center / eatery, and build our home and retreat cabins on a nearby property. Needless to say having the kitties with us will make this difficult, but they are our family and worth the hurdles to keep them close and with us throughout the move, I couldn't imagine doing it without them!
I AM NOT RETIRING ... I WILL NOT GHOST YOU ...
I am just starting a new business, and living in a new and vastly different place. We have been working on several ways to share our journey with the world, and you will be updated on these as they go live! it will be a much different and far less NSFW experience ...but fun and exciting none the less. I am sure you will all enjoy!
MyDollParts.com and KaylaJanePOV.com will continue to update as always with no change in schedule, quality or quantity of cotnent released! KaylasKinkShop.com and my other VOD studios will continue to update as well, and I will be shooting POV videos, although you should expect very differently styled backgrounds! Now you know why I've been bikini hoarding more than my usual lingerie hoarding!
I will continue to run KJD Media and Provocateur pictures in the US, growing the brands and the network of websites. I will continue to produce from afar and direct and perform when I make return trips to the US.
I will be keeping you all updated on my new adventure and all the craziness along the way - keep up with this blog, my new twitter @KaylaDives and @SaltDominica will also be up and running shortly! Expect lots of video blog updates from the caribbean!
